Subject: Acrid washing aluminum

Hey guys I just got an aluminum dump trailer and it needs cleaning. Been hearing virtually acid washing. Got a friend said I could do information technology myself which I know nothing virtually and don't want to make a mess of it. Would I be better off having it washed? I think a truck stop would do it..Thanks for any advice, Chris jdg

If you lot cannot operate a haversack sprayer or a hudson type pump upwards sprayer, you should hire it washed. It will exist well worth the trouble and go along your rig looking overnice. Places that bargain in hot water washers commonly carry the acid/cleaner. Shotgun

Information technology will piece of work but it will also eventually plow it a white looking color. If its a new shiny aluminum use a brush soap and a steam cleaner. If its an older trailer become for information technology because chances are that's what has been washed upwardly to this point. Don't allow the acrid dry. Spray it on then was off fairly fast so it doesn't streak information technology. You can get information technology acid washed at virtually all truck washes. Mbmaring

I like to take it to the truck wash and accept them practice it if yous do it incorrect information technology gets all streaked The place I go washes the truck and the 34 foot endump with acid on the trailer if needed for well-nigh $75

do not use on polished aluminum !!!!!!!!!! it is hard on trailers to use the acid, unless information technology might be citric blazon. kicking

I would say never practice that. Oxidation protects the aluminum. The best thing you can do for an aluminum trailer is launder it, allow information technology dry out and not let manure or debris just sit in information technology. That starts the delayering. Our trailer is a 98 eby. We notwithstanding go comments asking how we keep it in such adept shape. Wash it!! Aluminum strengthens with historic period We besides take an aluminum boat that has been discoloured from previous owner leaving it in the water all the time. Owners manual says not to use any smooth or any thing on it as the discolouring protects it. Its a 93.

There is special "cleaner" that is good for polished aluminum I employ AB5000 and information technology works very well. I tried some stuff from Hotsy, that was literally $65 downwardly the drain, worthless.
